The first meeting for December
started off with a 2yo race where Victorian Scot Free was the short
priced favourite but in the end first starter Australia Day by Sebring
was far too good racing away to win by over 4 lengths from Scot Free
with Pound the Alarm third. The second race over 2019m was taken
out in commanding fashion by Waratone who took his record to 16
starts for 5 wins and 4 placings and was his third win in a row.
Second was Evenmoreaction with Sandhill Prince third. In the third
race Dashitude kicked clear in the straight and looked the winner until
Golden Penny started to storm home and just got the bob in on the line
to win. Carrying 60kg Golden Penny took her record to 18 starts
for 6 wins and 4 placings in winning from the gallant Dashitude with
Exalted Filly third. The next was a very similar finish with
topweight Verco Road kicking clear and looking the winner but it was
Alcohol who made the late charge to get up right on the line making it a
double for the Richard Jolly stable with Rock Culture in third place and
Above Average a first up 4th.
The 3yo was the 5th race which saw
the David Jolly trained Bridget Baby break her maiden status, making it
an early double for SA sire legend Blevic, in defeating the favourite
Heart of a Lion with Saturday Affair third. Mega Queen took her
record to three wins from five starts in the next race defeating Wokpool
and Wine Lover in a close finish while Aregee McLaren made it three from
four starts in defeating comeback sprinter Idalou with Weholdtheace
third. The last race on the program saw the Face Value mare Bojani
take her record to 13 starts for 4 wins and 3 placings in defeating New
Order and Ambrosia |
