The first race was
for the 2yos and only two of the 7 runners had raced before. One
of these was topweight Tennessee Groom who sprinted clear in the
straight but in the closing stages he was run down by Ziggler who won by
a length from Coup De Beel with a half length to Tennessee Groom
third. Ziggler is by Shinzig from Princess Canny and is trained by
Lloyd Kennewell and ridden by Paul Gatt.

defeated Couldn't Agreemore with Red Fez third. General Peekay by
General Nediym took his record to 11 starts for 4 wins and 1 second.
