The final day of the event
this year saw the rain gone and the big 2 star class start their rounds.
Megan Jones' Kirby Park Impress was withdrawn at the trot up.
Kirsty Douglas and Cushavon Crackerjack had been third overnight but a
clear round on both jumping and time saw them finish on their dressage
score of 51.30 and take out the class from Christine Bates and Kung Fu
Panda who had 2 rails down to finish on 55.50 with Megan ones and Kirby
Park Invader third on 56.30. Cindy Lyall and GI Joe jumped clear
to be 6th on 57.90 and take out a thoroughbred award along with Tegan
Cook and Better on Sunday who also received a thoroughbred award and
finished on their dressage score in 4th on 56.30.
In the Young Rider Teams competition the combined Qld/Vic
team of Grand Andi & I English, S Sullivan & Talent Thyme and M Dekker
and Drummer was successful from the WA/NSW team.
In the four star contest all horses passed the morning trot up and as
the early poles fell the pressure was on the group at the top of the
ladder as the order changed with clear rounds hard to find.
Finally Katja Weimann & BP Cosmopolitan went clear and moved up from 9th
after the cross country to 4th position. Soigne Jackson & Gold had
2 rails down but enough in reserved to safely hold 3rd place while
attention turned to Megan Jones and Kirby Park Allofasudden. They
finished with a clear round (and the top placed thoroughbred award)
putting the pressure on Jess Manson and Legal Star. However they
were also up to the challenge and also went clear to take of the major
prize of the weekend.
